Back in the day, I started my career as a trainee Accountant at the age of 17 for a large National Accounting firm in Australia, whilst also studying for my Accounting degree at University part time. After a couple of years of number crunching and bean counting I saw the light and moved into a Network Administration role. Today, I bring over over 12 years of experience to my current role as manager of the Information Technology team.
I am currently responsible for overseeing the provision of day-to-day IT support and in designing and implementing the company’s IT systems (Did I mention I am still with the same Accounting firm). I have strong technical knowledge and hands on experience covering diverse enterprise solutions, products, tools and concepts primarily utilising Microsoft products such as SharePoint, Exchange, Windows…. and the list goes on.
I have implemented a number of specialised projects within the company I work for, including the development of a national intranet across 5 different cities based on the SharePoint platform.
In addition to my Accounting degree I also hold a number of Microsoft certifications from the Technology and Professional Series (listed below). In 2004 I also started a consulting division and as a result became a recognised Microsoft Small Business Specialist and Registered Partner.
As a qualified accountant I also have the ability to intuitively recognise and suggest solutions to many of the issues that are faced by businesses today.
